Need to crop a JPG without downloading software or signing up to anything? This tool does exactly that. Upload your JPEG photo, drag to select the part you want, and download it — the whole thing takes under 30 seconds and your image never leaves your browser.
JPG is the most common photo format in the world, and there are dozens of reasons you might need to crop one. Maybe you're trimming a photo for a social media profile, cutting out a person from a group shot, removing an unwanted background element, or resizing a product image for an online listing. Whatever the reason, the process here is the same: upload, select, download.
The tool supports freehand cropping (draw any shape you want), preset aspect ratios like 1:1 for Instagram squares, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails, and 9:16 for Stories, and custom pixel dimensions so you can hit an exact target size. You can also rotate your photo left or right and flip it horizontally or vertically before finalising the crop.
Cropping itself doesn't degrade image quality — you're simply removing pixels from the edges. The quality slider lets you control how compressed the output file is. Keeping it at 85–95% gives you a sharp-looking file at a reasonable size. Dropping it lower reduces file size further but may introduce visible compression artefacts, especially on areas with gradual colour transitions like sky or skin.
Use the preset ratio buttons to lock in the dimensions required by each platform. Instagram feed posts work best at 1:1 (square) or 4:5 (portrait). YouTube thumbnails are 16:9. Pinterest pins perform well at 2:3. Facebook cover photos sit at roughly 2.7:1. Select the right ratio, adjust the crop to frame the subject well, and download. No guesswork needed.
